On October 2, the entire poker community will come together to honor the legacy and life of Doyle Brunson. A true poker legend, Doyle Brunson passed away in 2007.
Five poker rooms in the United States, as well as the World Poker Tour are holding a “Doyle Brunson Day”, to honor Texas Dolly, who died aged 89 years old in May.
Ten-Deuce
The poker community declared the 2nd of October as Doyle Brunson’s Day at a memorial ceremony held during the World Series of Poker in 2023. The shorthand number 10/2, as it is written in America, corresponds to the ten-deuce Brunson used in 1976 and 1977 when he won his WSOP main event titles.
Poker Royalty, a management company that looked after Doyle Brunson, organized the tribute in five poker rooms.
Live! Branded cards rooms. Peppermill Reno was another. It offered $100 to anyone who could make a full house or flush between 10:02 am and 10.02 pm.
The Lodge Card Club, in Austin, Texas is offering $10,200 for any player to cash game who wins with the ten-deuce.
WPT ran a promotion at the WPT Madrid festival. All players who won a hand with the ten-deuce card were entered in a drawing to win a $1,100 seat at the WPT Prime Championship.
On 10/2, there was also a $1,000 cash giveaway event for ClubWPT Diamond and VIP members.
